Rashes

Rashes are a broad category of skin changes that present as red patches, bumps, or blisters. Most are treatable, though persistent or unexplained rashes warrant an in-office evaluation to rule out an underlying cause.

When to come in

Many rashes are itchy, red, painful, or irritated, and some lead to blisters or patches of raw skin. Figuring out what kind you're dealing with matters before treating it.

  • A rash that's severe or getting worse
  • A rash that isn't going away on its own
  • A rash accompanied by other symptoms, like fever
