Scabies

Scabies is caused by a microscopic mite that burrows into the skin, causing intense itching and a pimple-like rash. It spreads easily through prolonged skin-to-skin contact, including within households.

Prescription treatment is needed to eliminate the mites, and close contacts often need to be treated at the same time to prevent reinfestation.
