Ringworm (Tinea)

Ringworm is a fungal infection of the skin, named for the ring-shaped, scaly rash it often causes. It isn't an actual worm. It can affect the scalp, body, feet (athlete's foot), or groin, and spreads through skin-to-skin contact or contaminated surfaces.

Most cases respond well to antifungal treatment, though the right medication and duration depend on the location and severity of the infection.
