Pattern Hair Loss (Androgenetic Alopecia)

Androgenetic alopecia, or male and female pattern hair loss, is the most common cause of hair thinning, driven by genetics and hormone sensitivity in hair follicles. In men, it typically shows up as a receding hairline and thinning crown; in women, as overall thinning with a widening part.

Treatment options including topical and oral medications can slow progression and support regrowth, and are most effective when started early.
